Brunch is not precisely a common word in the spanish vocabulary. In fact, it’s not as regular as in other parts of Europe or the United States. Federal Café, was created by two Australians living in Barcelona. It recreates the atmosphere of Federal, a small town in New South Wales, Australia.
It serves daily brunch from 9:00 to 16:00 focusing on organic products. Cozy, casual and well lighted, Federal has nice music, lots of magazines to read and lots of space to hang out for hours. Eggs are the specialty, either scrambled, fried, poached or the lovely Eggs Valentine. Options for vegetarians. Terrace and wifi also available.

Milk Bar & Bistro
Milk is a restaurant run by an Irish couple from San Francisco with brunch served everyday from 9:00 to 16:30 and a special “Recovery brunch”. With plenty of options for everyone, including American styled breakfast, eggs florentine, breakfast burger, salads, omelettes and plenty of side orders. To drink: fruit juices, smoothies, teas and cocktails.

Featuring fresh flowers, high chairs and bright interiors, Picnic also promotes organic produce and has an extensive brunch menu. Strawberry pancakes, french toast, italian sausage with gruyere cheese, huevos rancheros or israeli cous-cous, are available to order. Bellinis, mimosas, pink lemonade (with or without vodka) or the Chipotle Bloody Mary, clearly make a difference.

As the name implies, this Brunch & Cake is dedicated to the art of brunch, catered to all preferences. They serve creations such as quinoa veggie burgers, a selection of special sandwiches, pancakes, detox juices and plenty of vegetarian options. They don’t take reservations so try get early to avoid waiting in line. Terrace available.

This cozy establishment specializes in healthy food, smoothies and freshly made juices. The Juice House was created by Dani and Luz, two venezuelans living in Barcelona with a passion for healthy eating. Its menu includes treats such as pancakes, fruit bowls, sandwiches and bagels, toasts and salads. Main courses include gluten-free, as well as options for vegetarians and vegans.
