The Expiatory Church of the Sagrada Familia is considered the greatest work of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. Its construction began 140 years ago and while it’s still several years away from completion, once finished it will be the tallest Catholic church in the world.
After meeting your guide in front of the Sagrada Familia, you will start understanding the meaning of its façade, divided into three portals: the one on the left (the portal of Hope) dedicated to Joseph; the one on the right (the portal of Faith) dedicated to the Virgin Mary and the one in the middle (the portal of Charity), dedicated to Jesus.
You will also learn that each tower of the three façades represents one of Jesus' twelve apostles. Your guide will also tell you about Gaudí's inspiration for his design strategies and you will understand why he was called “a mad genius”.
For 1,15 hrs you will walk around the exterior of the Sagrada Familia stopping at each sculpture to learn about its details. You'll learn why one side is more modern than the other, what still remains to be built, who is currently funding the project and more curiosities and secrets of Barcelona's most incredible structure.
You'll finish the free tour at the Plaza de la Sagrada Familia, just across the street, so you'll have one of the best views of the breathtaking monument.

The free tours do not have a fixed reservation fee. At the end of the tour, each participant will pay the guide the amount he/she considers fair according to the degree of satisfaction with the activity. "Free" does not actually mean "free", it means that you are free to pay whatever you want.
