They’re not easy to find, but with a little patience and perseverance, it’s possible to find low-cost Hotels in Barcelona, but there are a lot of factors that need to be taken care of before making a reservation. Is it a good neighborhood? Are there any attractions close by? Is it close to any Metro station? Those questions can only be answered once you know the city beforehand, like us at Barcelona N’ Do, so in order to offer some guidance, we’ve made a personal selection of hotels.
Barcelona is not precisely inexpensive, quite the opposite, and actually a low-cost hotel by the city center will mean lower quality, so booking in advance and turning to other less centric areas means greater quality and better prices. Barcelona is not very big and as long as the Hotel is near public transportation, most likely you’ll only be a few minutes away of the city center either by Metro or Taxi. Following this formula, we turned to Booking and came up with this choices of 5 Low-cost Hotels in Barcelona.
The neighborhoods surrounding Glòries and Poblenou are shifting towards having a new prominence in Barcelona, and this 4 Star Hotel is proof of that. Making an off season search, three months in advance results in a double room for 93€ (104€ with cancellation insurance) , not bad considering that is just three blocks away from Agbar Tower and Glòries Shopping Center, as well as a Metro station. Free wi-fi but breakfast not included (15€ per person) but the area is filled with better priced options for food.
Not quite far from there, we find this stylish student residence with private bathrooms, free wi-fi, laundry and a rooftop pool with cool city views. The price for a double room is about 66€, not including breakfast which costs 4,65€. Nicely located just one and a half blocks from Marina Metro Station, and a few blocks away from the beach and the Ciutadella Park.
Located in the Eixample District, just minutes away from Sagrada Familia, this simple yet fancy 2 Star Hotel features great reviews which highlight the great location, helpful staff and good relation on price and quality. A double room in off season stands at 81€, plus 9€ for breakfast, however it’s reasonable to pay the same for 2 people in any coffee shop in the neighborhood.
If the beach is what you’re looking for, you might want to try out this one. Just 5 minutes away from the beach and very close to the Olympic Port, this 4 Star Hotel is a little bit more priced because of some extra features like sauna, steam baths and fitness center, however a double sized room off season can cost an acceptable 100€ (no extra meals included).
If proximity to the city center is essential for you, this one has the right location: 5 minutes away from La Rambla and one block away from Plaza Universitat, one of the stops of the Aerobus before Plaza Cataluña. The double room off season stands at 98€ (no meals included), and for that price you get spacious rooms with views to Gran Vía, free wi-fi and parking available with extra charge, quite reasonable given the privileged location.
