A place with history
Not long ago, this beach was the site of a shanty neighborhood called Somorrostro, where more than 15,000 people lived under dodgy conditions. In the end, the place was demolished in the 1960’s and eventually became Barceloneta beach.
It wasnt until 2010 that this section of the coast it was renamed after its former name, in order to honour the memory of this historical site.
